As long as they are hub centric to your car, your wheel and the spacer to each other,
i don't see a problem for track use only.

If they aren't hub centric, the tension rests on the studs...
Which causes it to wooble and fall of...

About the low ET, i run 17x9 ET-12 for two years now.., no problem at all.
And the wheel bearings are 10 y/o...
It causes the bearing to wear out quicker but not as fast as you would think.
Track could be quicker then street use...

I think the point of pushing out the wheel is to find the correct backspacing with offset then one wouldn't need spacers. At least in my eyes.
        lol, stance kids.

Most of this "oh noes, not spacers" advice comes from hearsay.

Robert, not sure what you mean by the above statement. But I'm nearly 60 years old (kid at heart) and this IS my first quote/unquote "stance" vehicle. My "hearsay" is based on past experiences (mainly images) of wheels/spacers being incorrectly installed by the individuals or wheel/tire shops where the lugs had been over tightened half assed.
I thought my opening statement was directed towards the OPer saying "to each their own" I'm sure there is a whole wide world of you fellows who knows way more than I do or that I even care to know about how to warp out the wheels. Granted once we get the 225/50R17 mounted on 17x8's it's going to be very tight.. and that's the best stance I'm allowed to achieve.

My first hand experience has been the opposite of your anecdotal "observations". And I don't know what warping out wheels means.

I shouldn't have even responded, I asked a question, and instead of answers, I receive opinions. Typical troll bait, and I naively took it.

Thanks for the help everyone, I believe I may have found a solution.

Were you able to get in touch with the guys at Parts Shop MAX, or did you find another option?

                EDIT:

Also, welcome to the fuckin' internet, ladies and gentlemen. I have just about completely given up on trying to research things by asking on forums. 99 times out of 100 I get half-assed "answers," misinformation, and people telling me I shouldn't do whatever it is I'm trying to do but won't articulate why. Even plenty of vendors, who ought to know better, just spew bullshit without actually bothering to understand the principles at work.

No. I did some more digging, and it is possible to get them in 4x100 but it would take a few months, 2-3. I decided to buy a few hubcentric spacer of varying sizes, and I pressed in some ARP extended studs into the hubs. I'll try that out for now and see if I can get that to work with my drift spares.
