  • I need wheel idea's...we're talking some nasty offset

well the SQ's wide body makes for some sick offset...stock is 0mm offset, and a 10-15mm spacer would flush them. so thats food for though. I've been trying to find some good wheels to offset a good look on the quest. I am either thinking a real deep lip like these, or going for the more race-ish look. I am kind of leaning race-ish look with bronze FN01R-C's, because then they are non knock offs in my price range (900 for all 4 wheels; im 16, so i cant afford much), and since I won't be going hard stanced, just a nice low flush, I figure rims like that might fit the look more. If I where to crank the camber and tuck and poke, then the huge lip flashy wheels might be more fitting. I still haven't decided. here's the photoshop of a white quest with a set of wheels I've been considering. They are knock offs Ti wheels. 18x8.5+15mm, and 18x9.5+15mm, with probably 20 mm spacers up front and 25-30 mm spacers out back. If I where gonna do those FN01R-C's, they would be 17x9+15, and 17x10+12, with 15 mm spacers up front and 25-30mm out back probably, fenders rolled obviously. any other idea's? input? here's a friends photo shop of those white Ti's....

I was also thinking the machine face spoke, titnaium lip, gloss black rim Ti5's, same specs. ideas? inputs? I'm like a lost puppy with so many idea's running through my head. I guess all of you have been there though haha.

Thank GOD there are some 18 or younger people on here besides myself who refuse to or (don't like to) buy knockoff wheels!!!!

One quick "thing," I can't tell if you "know" this from your post but width AND offset determine "poke." For example, an 18x8 +5 wheel will not stick out nearly as far as an 18x11 +5 wheel.

This calculator isn't exact and doesn't account for stretch but it's a good starting point, pretty self explanatory:

Since you're asking for input on the styling of the wheels, I'll give you some . Personally, I think with the older boxy style cars, mesh or more boxy or blocky wheels look better than the curvy, kind of graceful FN01RCs. Something more along the lines of a Volk TE37 with it's hard edges. Know what I mean?

As far as fitment goes, keep in mind that you will lose some performance with stretched tires and camber. "Hellagrip" can look real good, as can "hellaflush," pic which one you want and go for it!

Yay, I'm not alone! well I'd go Te37's but even then I get over 2k for all 4, which I guess I could pull, but that'd be a long time still, since Im saving another 1500 for an actual set of coilovers, not just sleeve-overs on stock struts. A little poke is cool, but I wanna keep over the hard camber as much as possible because I want good contact patch for performance driving, since this car will go to the track I'm looking just to get flush(or close), kill the wheel gap, and get it looking mean. I don't wanna be stretching much either, since again the car will be on the tracks, and its my DD, and I don't wanna ride the lip if I get some hard cornering goin'. The car will have some good meat on it, it's on 45 tall tires on the stock 16's, so with the 17 or 18's it will probably be 35 or 40 tall. As for the FN01R-C's, I kinda agree with you, I am waiting for a guy to send me a pic of his car on them. I've seen em, and they do look pretty aggressive with that deep curve to the spokes with the low offset, but I feel the spokes are just too small for the car, but I'll post a pic and see how I like it.

I didn't mean TE37s exclusively, I just meant that kind of blocky, 90* edge style. From your description it sounds like "hellagrip" would be your jam, here's a quick link to a guy that did both on the same car!
