  • 3D Wheel design and Rendering

I wanted to get a couple of opinions and ideas for the community. I've been working on a few wheels lately, And really just wanted to know what you guys think. This first wheel (Not complete yet) is 18x8.5 et25, 5x112 flat faced cast mesh(HERE is a link to an orbit video) . The second wheel was just a quick render before school, also not finished yet, but will be soon. It is also 18x8.5 et25, 5x112. I only have a video of it orbiting right now Click HERE, but will get pictures later on. Comments and criticism welcome.

I'm cringing at the thought of machining those sharp acute corners in the mesh, so I suggest adding some radii in those areas. Also, speaking designer to designer, I would add either a lip to the perimeter or think about doing a slight concave to the face so it's not just one plane, especially due to the fact that you have your lug bolts so deeply sunk in the face, you have some thickness to work with.

Exactly what I thought, which is why there are still a few little things to do, like fillet edges, etc. I wanted it to look totally flat, yet still be able to work. The lug holes are 25mm dia. with a depth of 70mm, followed by 19mm of "bite" for the studs/lugs to catch onto. I appreciate your feedback!
