Anyone have any tips or know how to split three piece welded wheels at home? I just bought some work vskf and I'm trying to see if I could possibly split them myself. From my understanding the barrels and lips are welded together. Any help is appreciated!

You need to take them to a shop that can put them on a lathe and cut the outer barrel from the inner barrel. There are a few shops that can weld on wider outer lips. It take really precise cutting/welding, and isn't very cheap. I think wheelflip charges $1300ish for the service. -
From what I have seen, people don't weld on the the new lips. People cut the old ones off and run them as 3 piece.Originally posted by lamsv View Post

I'm starting my vskf build, they just came i yesterday
! But that's what I'm doing, buying all new lips for them. The amount of money it's going to take to split them is around the same as getting new lips.
