  • Multipiece Replica BBS LMs?

    Happy New Year SW!

Just wondering if anyone has seen true multipiece BBS LM reps?

The reason I asked is I saw a set for sale and asked for a picture of the backside of the wheel (figured if the bolts extended through the shell and had a nut it would be multipiece). The wheels did have bolts/nuts but the wheels upon inspection do not say BBS and they were made in Taiwan.

I'm guessing they are fake splits, but I wanted to see if anyone has had experience with BBS LM reps that have nuts on the inside of the wheel that mimic real 3pc wheels.

    Fake 100%.
The bolts will come out, but it is a 1 piece wheel.
    Dont get excited.

That's what I figured and didn't buy them, I was just questioning myself once I got back. I guess replica companies are stepping up their game by adding nuts in the back.

Thanks for the conformation and Happy New Year!

but still its fairly easy to see the real deal as they stamp bbs on the front. replica aren't allowed to do so. And, you se the tiny tiny gap between the center and the barrel.

Normally all you have to do is check for the bbs stamp on the face, but I did find one set of 1 piece wheels that did have the bbs stamp on the face, however they did not have the model number/specs by lug holes, some reps are crazy close

QFT, I researched a lot and actually found some one piece wheels from Taiwan with the stamp on the face near the lug holes.

Freaking rep companies are ruining the wheel industry.

The consumers buying them are guilty as well.
"OMG check out my wheels I know they reps but its cool"
              No, its not.

Agreed, it is truly all on the part of the consumers. Without the demand the supply would not exist to this extent. Its so sad now to see old beautiful wheels not able to be sold for a few hundred bucks but people ask for nearly 1,000 for reps on chinese tires.

The real funny thing about that quote is that if you take a set of JNC LM knockoffs and add a set of decent hub centering rings, I spent only $300 more on my MAEs.

$300. For beautiful wheels that won't crack and blow out on a pothole. For wheels I can turn around and flip for the same price I paid for them or more.

I'm starting to see SSR reps coming out of southeast Asia (Malaysia, specifically) that come from the factory with SSR centercaps. Pretty shameless.

The knockoff wheel industry (and all knockoff industries in general) thrives off the fact that people believe that the look is all that matters, and that they will receive just as much attention and accolades if they buy cheap knockoffs of quality products as they would if they ran the real thing. If we care about design, quality, and originality, the only recourse is to not prove this mindset right.

If it has to do with wheels, tires or brakes it goes here. 'Nuff said.

Dude is weird, brought up his family in a post about wheels.
