Do decent BBS RS replicas exist?

Lol, yes it is. 80% of the BMW's on this site run BBS wheels. Get a crappy beat up E28, cut springs and throw some style 5's at it and everybody drools over it.

BBS wheels are heavily overpriced wheels, and not even that good quality. Most of the sets are old, and have cracks around the center, and at the boltholes. People buy them for a couple of hundred bucks, polish them, paint the centers, and ask $2500+ for them.

That's another downside to buying BBS RS rims...

Adding this to the downsides for me of buying RS's has helped me with my decision.
I decided to buy Klutch Republik SL1's.
Those are new, not too expensive, easy to get, right size and bolt pattern and they look amazing in my opinion.
Also, what I have heard so far here and read on the internet, they are good quality.
It's a bit of a shame that they are reps, but if they look good and are good quality... Who not buy them?

Only problem now is that the E21 I would get in a few weeks is cancelled.
I had a deal on it, but the seller decided to keep the car after some thinking...
So, now I have to find another nice E21 first.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that BBS RS rims are iconic and very good quality.
Also I like the look of them a lot!
If I had the time, experience and money to buy and restore them I would do that without a doubt.

Yeah, I understand most here would go for BBS rims...
I think it's best that I stick to new rims for now and when I have more money, time and experience in a few years (when I finished my study) I will look at BBS RS rims again.

I just found a page of nice pics of a very low E21 on Klutch SL1's.
That car looks amazing in my opinion with those rims!
Maybe even a bit cleaner than on BBS RS (not sure if I should say that here ).

Klutch wheels will serve you just fine, if they fit the look you're going for. Of the rep brands, they seem to hold up well from the testimonials I'm aware of, and they're not going to cause your car to roll over, catch fire, and slam into a bus full of nuns. They won't win you all the scene points in the world, and they won't hold value like a set of BBSs will, but at a certain point, you've got to ask whether you give a shit. They wouldn't be the direction I'd go were it my project, but everybody's skills and priorities are different.

At the moment the Klutch rims are still on the top of my list.
They look nice, seem good quality, are new (no restoring) and are easy to get in my country.

Maybe the BBS RS are better, but I will use the car (almost) daily.
So, maybe that's not the best idea with sush expensive rims.
Also, they are hard to find in the right size for the right price.
Finally, I am a complete noob, so restoring is not ideal for me...

It's a hard decision to make... Especially as it's a lot of money for me.

I still say get some e38 wheels and rock those until you have enough money for what you want. Your going to spend 400+ getting some new wheels that are only temporary, to save up for 1000+ wheels. Or you can keep what you have right now, and buy what you really want later.

That's true...
I really like those Klutch, just as much as BBS RS.
But I didn't know that those Klutch rims are reps.
So, I guess I will have another look at some BBS rims.
