  • Repairing Cracked Barrels on AC Schnitzer Rennsport Typ I 8,5x17 ET 13 9,5x17 ET 13

One of my favorite details about my Type 1s is the OZ Racing date stamp of 1992 on the inner barrel. Unfortunately, two of those inner barrels are now cracked so its time to replace them.

I've ordered the OZ bolt tools from shirley_auto_spares_birmingham on eBay so I've got that covered.

I see Tunershop has the OZ Barrels: http://www.tunershop.com/Wheel_acces...er_Barrels/OZ/

I'll locate the sealant someplace I'm sure...

Anyone have any recommendations as far as resources to purchase the Barrels in the US, and maybe for a better price?

I'll keep the thread updated as repairs shape up!

Thanks for seeing this and responding. There was a small (super small) blemish when I got the wheels, a welded repair on one of the barrels. Considering the wheels are 20 years old I wasn't upset about it, plus I ran them for ~5,000 miles before I noticed increasing vibration from the rear, which prompted me to inspect them. They never lost air or anything.

Anyways, looks like I need a 6" and 6.5" barrel. I was just about to start placing an order.

        Cheers,
        Alex

sorry to hear about your barrels. I can not help you with the inner barrels, but should you perhaps need some 17x3 outer barrels I have some for sale that would work for you.
