it's funny thought bc.... some of those same members said they liked my friend rodney's TL. whatever like people said before, there will always be ******.
I'm bored today, so let me put my 02c into this. This is just my personal opinion but hellaflush does not work with the wrong wheels. I'm not a fan of tons of camber and 8" wide wheels. Seriously, camber the hell out on some 18x10s or something like that. Hondas with 16x6.5 wheels and -3 camber is just dumb. I was running 18x9.5s 245/35/18 falken 912s with -2.8 camber on a w124 300e and my tires ended up being tossed out after 6 months. I was basically riding on the sidewalls and the soft compound of the 912s was a bad combo. I wanna see fitments that take some serious work to fit. I'm finally getting more into my euro cars but I come from muscle cars where you fit 15x12s tub the rear and do some fender work.
Keep your agressive fitments for show cars and keep your daily conservative.
i admit i didn't like the style at first but maybe it was because it only looked good on bagged rides since the majority of vw people poke way to much and have bags to try to make up for it. the more and more i found people with offsets that were pulled of right, the more i liked it.
and i don't know how old the rest of you guys are but back in the day, the barriostylez was running some spokes pokin out on everything with no stretch and that was the shit. from trucks to altimas to whatever. it's like it's the same deal with more taste all over again imo.
I think its like this. Its just to damn easy for some people to go out and buy what everyone else thinks is " hot ". Said items usually are dirt cheap and are usually a direct bolt on replacement. They linger around the crowd that does not know any better and before you know it they are against you as well. Not to mention its a forum where most likely the kids are looking up to who ever has the most posts.
Now, your that guy thats still busting ass to get a decent set, your the guy busting knuckles to make things up to even your own standards. You do lots of hard work while this guy does nothing at all and sits back and sucks up attention. Not that you desire attention but to some that just gets under the skin after a while.
I made a few comments and I stick by them but Im not starting threads about it nor am I standing up for people that bait themselves to childish people on the web. Hell, I take most of my frustrations out on the manufacturers for being so damn conservative
Some people like to stand up for themselves and thats cool. Whats not is making a public display and rant about " ****** ******!"
Its more to some people than just a car. Its a culture and has been since people started modding cars. It is something that eventually has almost imprinted into the human DNA and humans are this way with more than just cars. Anything that they basically feel is a way of life to them is the same way.
I been on a all Lincoln forum and man, wanna talk about childish rants and arguments over what looks right and what does not?
Thats the good thing about sites like SW. Its a diversity of cultures if you would. Then you have sites like the one posted where its about a specific brand and you have the elitists and purists.
That was not as bad or funny, seen alot worse and funnier mainly from the domestic car forums
You should check out MBworld or Benzworld for giggles sometimes. Some of the old timers there are funny. They get heated about unsprung wheel weight, rolling diameter, how a MB car is not a Honda and should not be lowered, blah, blah, blah. Funny stuff.
I think a big deal with being labled as a "*****", is the way a person comments on someone's thread, tone wise. If you respond negatively in a mean way, you get a negative response, and then someone will "+1" on the negative quote and it snowballs. A little cordiality from others goes a long way if you ask me.

everyone has their own taste. i dont see any point in ****** on someone elses. typically im vocal about what i do and dont like about peoples cars, but i try to come across in more of a constructive manner than a **** style one.
Oh the ironing. It seems that not many can realize, or honestly be mature enough, to accept a difference of opinion. I can't quite grasp why that is the case but it seems to be just the name of the game. You post a stanced car on a large forum with a very diverse crowd and get mixed reaction. Some negative, some super negative, some neutral and some will love it. Oh and some 'owner is gay' comment. Those that post a difference of opinion will be labeled as ****** and for some childish reason it will be posted on this forum and linked for everyone to make fun of those people.
Now someone joins stanceworks and post up their car. It is on coilovers. Nicely done. Has Linea Corse LM Reps. I find the irony here as this car will be ripped up with negative comments about the owner's choice in wheels. Is that ******? Or what exactly would that be called. Do you not see you are doing the same thing? Telling people they need more low. Telling them their 'fake wheels suck' and various other petty crap.
Does everyone not see how stupid that never ending cycle is? Learn to accept that not everyone is going to like you, your car, your wife, your house, your lawn and whatever else you have or plan to get. It would seem the best thing to do is to ignore the comments and move on but no one seems to be able to ever do that. This person attacks that person. That person attacks that person. Skinny jeans this. Meaty tires that. Then a thread dedicated, or an attempted dedication to make fun of stance/hellaflush/etc? Yah... that'll teach those stance guys! In retort a thread dedicated to make fun of those making fun?
It's just a car. Don't have to be so serious. Don't have to look down on people for buying rep wheels. Don't have to make assumptions about people because of their wheel fitment. Don't see why there is always this sort of rift in the car game. Every 'side' is guilty. No one is to blame more than the other. Doesn't seem that hard to just get along. We are all guilty. I used to have an opinion and stated it, many times negative, and it just isn't worth the time to type of a negative comment/personal attack. If you don't like it move on. Really is quite simple.
The real problem is the 'hardcore blind biased' supporters of each group. The Purist. The OEM+. The track guy. The stance guy. Etc. If you go overboard in any those genres it is lame. The E30 M3 owner that says your ruined your E30 M3 by putting an S52 in it is just as bad as telling someone with reps that your wheels suck. Taking it to the extreme is just creating a bias that shouldn't be there. We all dump stupid money in our cars. Some like wide wheels with skinny tires and some rather slap on some big tires and hit the track. Accept it. Love it. Enjoy the car scene more...
