Hi, I'm working on refinishing a set of Gotti G1001s and I want to go about polishing the faces and powder coating the windows metallic black. How should I go about doing this? Should I polish before powder and tape off everything but the windows? Any input is much appreciated.

I suppose there's no wrong way to do it you could do powder before or after. Personally I would get the pockets completely ready to be powder coated then polish the faces then have the pockets done. You'll certainly need to repolish them again but that's mostly just to clean them up from being handled. You could have them powdered before and just be careful not to ruin them during the polishing process. I used my method with a set of fittipaldi fitti stars and it worked out very well.

Only proper way is to have the faces polished first, then tape the faces off with the heat sensitive powder tape, powdercoat them black, and then remove tape and polish the entire face again so all of the edges are consistent. Then make sure they off gas once more, let them cool, and then shoot gloss clear powder- if you want to do that step.
brushing the faces the process would be a bit simpler but overall similarsigpic
