Can BBS-LMs be rebarreled/relipped?

    Can BBS-LMs be rebarreled/relipped?

    On my never-ending quest for new wheels, I found myself looking at the BBS LMs. Classic styling, gotta love it. However, I noticed that these wheels feature a 20-bolt design, which is unique to that specific BBS wheel, and BBS in general. While searching, I also noticed that there are no LM rebarreling or relipping builds anywhere. I managed to find one for a S2K build that was done by Rotiform, but they drilled out more seats for bolts (likely to accommodate the preexisting lips.

    So, color me curious. Is the design of these faces what prevents them from being built differently?

    Yep it's all doable.

    Otherwise you wouldn't be able to do the popular reverse mounting with them:



    There is also a guy that took 19 inch LMs and relipped/barreled them to 18 inchers with flat lips:



    I love LMs.

      Great. I like a smaller face and a nice step lip, so it's great to know it is possible. Are there certain manufacturers that carry these specific barrels, or do they have to be custom fabricated?

        Additional note, while you obviously can make it a true 3p wheel with new barrels and lips it, I just got told that when they come from BBS the lips and barrels are one piece essentially making it a 2p wheel with removable centers obviously.

          Correct, LMs are 2 piece.

              Yup. They're 2-piece. You can see my thread for pics of them apart to get an idea.
