  • tires on 18x9.5 Rotas, opinions pleez

hey here is the deal. I have a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 in the Smoke color. i cant afford Volks which i love so i want Rota Grids in the hyper black (gray chrome) color. im also experimenting like the guy with the black Tc on gold Rotas.

These are pics of a Altima from a Nissan thread, it is NOT my car but color is same. and i dont want matte black either. but anyway, he has had these wheels on and also been dropped on Tien coilovers. obviously in the pictures he only has springs, he has no pics of the coilovers. anyway, the specs are 18x9.5 38+ all around. tires i think are 245/40/18. now can u tell by lookin at the pics what tire size im gonna need when i go to buy these wheels? cause im definitly droppin the car on coilz before i mount these but i know his tire size looks kinda beefy to drop real low. i also dont wanna stretch too much that a tire shop wont do it for me. i dont know the "limit" that they stretch but im sure its hard for some shops. thanks for your input, this is appreciated cause i know for sure i can go with this setup plus whatever tires u suggest (and brand) and it will work with no rubbing or pulling.

It depends how low you're going to go. If you don't want much stretch then you should probably go with a 225/40 or so imo.

most tire shops will do it... but some wont.. it honestly is their decision/discretion

tyrestretch.com will give u pics of different stretches.. IMO go with sumthing bigger than 18, maybe a set of 19's. but the 215/40 looks good.. hopefully u have coils cuz altimas always have monster wheel gap up front. but ur stretch always depends on ur stance. how low are u planning to ride? how well do the 9.5's fit on the altima, are u going to run camber in either front or rear to complete the stance. all that factors in when u have to make a choice on tires.. also think about staggerd tire sizes for the front and rear. best bet is to test fit those grids w/out tires just to see how it looks mite need to space it out in the rear..?? hmmm

well those are the exact wheel and fitment size im going with. i like staggered looks, but i just dont wanna stagger my FWD sedan. id rather watch other people do that lol. but i dont plan on camber, i do just want my wheels flat on the ground and get even tire wear. i DO plan on slammin as low as i can, all i want is to tuck tire while at the same time poke the rim out. i may do that 215 on the 9.5, thats if tire shops can do it no problem. on and the reason i want 18s is cause its perfect without going too small. cause then i will wanna go too low (no such thing lol). but also yeah im DEFINITLY searchin hard as hell for good prices on coils cause im on Eibachs and still have the huge fender gap up front lol. thanks a lot guys. the tires i want are just to be able to tuck and poke, i dont care much for any partucular style.

oh and btw thats good to know that u can stretch a Nankgang cause i know they are cheap! bad enough the Rotas are 900 brand new shipped, w/o tires and im used to paying no more than $800 for rims/tires packages from the wonderful world of Craigslist! anyway here is a chopped pic of this car but with the color i want. plus more pics of the same setup and size wheel on a Subaru.
