  • Do any of these tires stretch good?

    Any on this list?

It will be just a very slight stretch 205/45-17 on 17x8. Should I look for something with, or without a rim protector? Anything else I should know? I'm new to the scene any help would be appreciated.

Ohtsu FP7000 is the best stretch you're going to get on 17x8.

      Pics for reference. 17x8 205/40

Will a tire with a "softer, flexible" side wall properly stretch better that a tire with a "harder, not flexible" side wall.

For example is it better to go with a touring or all-seasonal tire with a softer side wall for ride comfort, than a high performance summer tire.

Does the speed rating make difference, like a W rated summer or high performance all-seasonal vs. a V rated touring all-seasonal?

              I'm debating on:
              1. Kumho Ecsta AST (S.W. ?, H rated)
              2. Kumho Ecsta PA31 (S.W. 8.1", V rated)
              3. Nankang NS-20 (S.W. ?, V rated)
              4. Hankook Ventus V2 concept2 (S.W. n/a, V rated)
              5. Kumho Ecsta 4X (S.W. 8.1", W rated)
              6. Dunlop Direzza DZ101 (S.W. 8.1", W rated)
              7. General G-Max AS-03 (S.W. 8.4", W rated)

In that order. I'm also looking at section width (S.W.) to try to judge if the tires run small, normal, or large.
