  • Lip polishing question

Alright, so I'm in the process of refinishing some wheels. The centers and bolts have been addressed, now it's time to give the lips some attention. They're already polished, but I'd like to clean them up a good bit. What would be a good process to go about this? I was thinking start out by doing like a 2000 grit wet-sand then some aluminum polish? Am I on the right track there or should I do it another way?

    Thanks in advance fellas!
    Jason

    you're on the right way.

if the lips are in good condition, 2000 wet will work fine with some polish at the end.
you'll see by yourself if 2000 works fine or not. If not, go lower on the grit but still wet.

Don't sand in circles!! I did that to one wheel, and had some issues getting the sanding marks out, found it way better sanding from side to side.

Tho yeah, go with 2000grit wet, if you see that the scratches don't get out (assuming) that there are any marks at all, then go lower.
If the lips just are a bit "dull" you can always just try the polish right away. And see how it goes.
