  • Help with rebuilding RS001.

Okey here goes. I have searched and i came up short, so i figured i try asking here.

I am about to buy a set of BBS RS001.
    They are 7j x 15'' and ET of 25.

Now, thats way of my sizes that i want, so the question is. Can i build a set of 9j x 16'' and 10j x 16'' with ET as close to 10. With some step lips or slant lips, going from 15'' to 16''.

Hope you can help, since i have never build a 3piece wheel. And really having a hard time whit the lip/barrel change.

Hm with that, i look at 7'' width and et 25. i see the backspace is 5''. That means that the lip + center is 2'' right? and the center is .5'' so that means the lip is 1.5''

    Front wheels.
Now if i get a 5.5'' barrel, center is .5'' that will give me a 3'' lip. et12

    Back wheels.
So for the back ill get a 6'' barrel, center is .5'' and a lip of 3.5'' et12
Or go with a 5'' barrel, center is .5'' and a lip of 3.5'' et0

With a square setup, tho different ET's and lips, it would be easy to get even stretch. if i would go 215/40 all around. on 9''
Or with a 10'' rear and a 225/40, tho get a little bit uneven stretch.

Pleas can someone conform my "research+sizes" if i ever can achieve that.
And if the slant lip from 15'' to 16'' are someone, and not something that i just dream about.

the simple answer is no. the more detailed answer is with the offset starting out at 25, with 1" factory lips, you're at et 12 with a 2" lip which only makes them 8" wide. making them 9s (3" lip) would get you at et 0 and 10s would be et -12.

also, you're going to spend a lot of money to make the 15s into 16s. 16" 30 hole lips are the most expensive lips mkae for RSs and i've ionly seen them in 2" at about $280 per lip, barrels would be even more. your best bet, and most cost effective, would be to sell the 15s and start over with a set of 34 hole 16s in a higher offset if you want 9s and 10s at anywhere near et 10.

That pretty much sums it up, good that i did not buy the wheels.
Seems i'm on the hunt again.

Thank you sir, for clearing it up for me.

            Will do.
Tho a second question for you, i have found some 003 16''x7''

Now with the wisdom words from you, i cant build some 9/10j with out ending at the wrong offset.
So, if i make a 9j for the rear and ending at et0 with a 3'' lip, so that will correspond to a 10j at et12.
And for the front make an 8.5j et 6 with a 2.5'' lip, and that will be the same as a 9j et12.
Tho -.5'' lip in both cases comparing the 8.5j/9j to the 9j/10j But the same poke all around.

Is this true, or am i still just shooting in the dark?
