  • bmw rear hubs drilled to fit 5x114.3 wheels?

i love jdm wheels and there are so many sweeter offsets and wheels available in 5x114.3 than what is available for bmw imo.

has anyone drilled out an additional 5x114.3 pattern in their rear hubs and is it deemed safe? i understand my bmw's hub is 72.5 whilst the wheel i am interested in is 73. that little variance can be taken up by use of an aluminum centering ring or even something as simple as electrical tape from what I have read.

worth it or not worth it?! any experience or advice in this realm would be greatly appreciated.

i would suggest adapters. check with Adaptec speedware on the right side of the page >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

EDIT: the link is dead. maybe they changed their web info. they have a ton of bolt on options.

the whole purpose of drilling the hub(s) is so that i don't need to use thick adapters. i want a nice spacer free setup.
