  • cutting fender vs. rolling?

since i dont really have access to a fender roller local to me here in NYC, i was thinking of having a local member from my forum cut my rear fenders inner lip.

does anyone have experience with this? he is charging $75 for both sides but i dont mind the money, just dont want issues down the road.

i also do not trust myself to roll them myself, i dont have the patience at all.

    -Nick.

yeh i would at least try rolling the fenders with a bat.
        1. youll save money.... seem to be getting ripped off if you ask me.
        b. it might start rusting unless you take care of this issue RIGHT after you cut it
        3. could eat your tires more on bumps.
        h. why not try it yourself?? ... you have nothing to lose. and if you mess up, smile and now you have a story

Roll them with a bat. There is a really good video on youtube (all be it in Japanese, but none the less you can see how to do it because its quite obvious, and really really will be much better in the long run because say he fucks up cutting, you can cut your tires, develop serious rusting issues, and really once you learn how to roll your fenders you can do it for other people too, and make them pay you!

Check Craigslist, they have fender rolling services there for NYC.

I used a heat gun and rubber mallet to do the job.

I cut my fenders. It doesn't cut into the tire more you just have to make sure you smooth out all the rough edges and make sure you seal everything and then paint it. It worked about better for me because I don't want to roll fenders. It takes too long.

heat gun and a rubber mallet/ hammer wrapped in cloth. works perfect and you get to hit your car a little. and you did it yourself.
