Hey, I'm looking around on Yahoo Japan for some big front brakes to suit Nissa S/R-chassis and I'm seeing that a lot of the calipers dont seem to have a rubber dust boot around each piston.
For example this photo:
Most of the more mild kits do seem to have visible rubber dust boots on all brake pistons. Are they necessary for daily driving? I was told by a mate that the kits without dust boots were designed for track use, and would not be suitable for daily driving as they would get road grit etc in them.
Is this true?
Do I need to stick with kits that have dust boots if I want to put big brakes on my daily?
If they're essential, can I get a second-hand brake kit without dust boots and retrofit dust boots to the pistons?
