  • Split SSR wheels

    Hi,

I know, this topic is old, but I could not find the information I need.

So, I have a set of SSR Agle Strusse. I want to change the lips, but they are welded with the barrel. How can I break the weld and remove the lips? Destroying the lips would be okay for me, as they get changed anyway.

I asked a friend of mine who has a lathe, but the wheels are to big.

I saw a few sets of agle strusse refinished, so it must be possible.

Working on my old bbs rs was much easier :/

Are you in the states? A shop can cut and weld in another lip.
You could try http://ericvaughnmachine.com/ or http://www.weldcraftwheels.com/index-1.html

I'm doing the same right now on my wheels. they are welded instead of sealed. its a lot of diy treads if you google it. its also a tread here on SW with a guy doing it. try and search it.

I searched up and down but can't find it. Maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing or use the wrong words.

        I'm located in Germany.

Hey man, i forgot to answer your pm.

But the easiest way to split them is by putting them on a lathe, and cutting of the lips.
You could also order new barrels and lips. There are a few places in Germany that can hook you up with those parts. They are expensive tho.

I will order the lips via wheelsplit. Reverse lips are not available in Germany, only god knows why^^
I hope I can find someone with a big enough lathe. :/
Is there an alternative to the lathe? As I said, I have no problem with destroying the old lips.
