  • HELP with style 5's

hello everyone im in the process of refinishing a set of style 5's \
and i have all the bolts and nuts off and am trying to get the face off
but it seems to be stuck there. i tried hitting it with a sludge hammer
but still nothing. im kinda scared to hit it full strength . any ideas on what to do ??

Hit it full strength. I`ve seen threads like this before about style 5`s. the face is like an interference fit and requires massive bashing with a hammer to remove it. Try putting a block of wood over the face to spread the load and whack away

what one of my buddies had to do was "hang" the rim by the lip with blocks of wood (just above the ground) and jump onto the centre of the rim, thus breaking the lock. for the others he put them in the oven for a while

use a rubber mallet first lol.

but when i took apart RSs, i used to stick them in the oven to loosen it up a bit and then just gave a good wack with a rubber mallet.

i had to use a 4x4 block of wood in the center of the centers, then hit it hard with a sledge hammer. It took alot to get them to separate.
