  • BBS Measurement Requests

I am taking a mechanical CAD class offered at my high school, and I enjoy creating wheels in my free time on solidworks. It would be very nice if someone could take some measurements on a set of disassembled RS wheels for me. Preferably from a set of 16's or 17's, but any will do.

1.) The thickness of the face itself. Where the 34 bolt holes are, where the face joins the barrel and lip.

2.) The diameter of the face, how tall is it?

3.) The thickness of where the face joins the hub (not including the center cap). I will be adding my own bolt pattern.

In some years down the road, I would be interested in creating my own 1-off set of faces using RS hardware to simplify the building process. I know this is a bit much for a second post, but thank you to anyone who does this for me.

      1) .5" on all RS wheels

      2) not sure

      3) this differs for almost all RS models

          1) Thickness of faces are all half inch as far as RSs go. However, depending on what blank and how you will be mounting your own wheels, they can be whatever width.

2)The diameter of the faces are different depending on which set of RSs you use. Some are step ups. For example, a set of RS178s use a 16" RS face but the wheels are 17".

          3) Different based on wheel and how it joins to the backpad.

Thanks everyone. For #2, could you just give me whatever you have on hand for the face diameter? Anything will work, I just want something to mess with. I'll post some screen shots when I can.
