  • First set of rims

Hey guys, im planning on buying my first set of rims for my 09 sentra spec v,
im so down with the stance style and iv seen so many nice rims on this site, i just dont know which ones to get, iv been looking at the rota grid drifts, they hella fly but im not sure howd they would look on my car, what do you guys think?

  • #2
Rotas are "hellafly"???? Since when??? lol

I would dump the car on spaced-out stockers (they look just fine in my opinion) until you can afford nicer wheels. Since you're looking at rota's I would assume you're not at that point yet.

If your response to the above suggestion is "f*ck real wheels, the fakes are just as good" or "STFU Rotas are great!!!1" or something along those lines, then go ahead and throw some "hella fly" wheels to "hook your car up"

i dont see whats wrong with him getting grids you dont have to wast 2 grand on wheels to be considered "stance" or "cool". you can buy cheap wheels with good offset and size and end up with a better "stance" than some one who spend shit load of money on some 17X8 and run 30mm spacers. Rotas hes talking about come 17x9.5 and 18x10.....

Haha I say "hella" all the time as a joke too, dont worry about it

Yeah, every single Rota ever made is a DIRECT copy of another "legitimate" wheel using cheaper and less safe manufacturing processes. Here is a small portion of Rota's wheels and the wheels they copied making them. There's a more complete list somewhere but I couldn't find it:

            Mugen XJ - Rota MGM

            Voltec MS - Rota Bella

            Advan RS - Rota G-Force

            Work Emotion XD9 - Rota P1

            Mugen M7 - Rota J-Mag

            Work RSZ-R - Rota JSPL

            Sprint Hart CP-R - Rota Track R

            Volk CE28 - Rota DPT

Gram Lights 57CZ - Rota Attack

Gram Lights 57 Maximum - Rota Real Lite

Anyways, look on Sentra forums for specific size, width and offset recommendations for your car. Try www.nissanforums.com if you're not on there already, I used to have an 05 Altima SER so I was on there all the time. I've never seen a newer Sentra on some nice wheels so maybe you'll get some inspiration there. If you want 18's, look into the 05-06 Altima SER wheels, I think they'd look great on new sentras!

Remember that a car lowered on stock wheels looks 10000% better than a stock car with hawt rimzz

Sometimes true. I always love when people make OEM wheels from other models fit.

Check it man ..since it's you first set go for what u like...you'll learn as you go along with your moding style...you gotta start somewhere, why not start with what u are comfortable with and don't let anyone screw with what you like..ur the one driving the car, not others..good luck.

oh and go with what you can afford , not what someone else wants you to get. Peace

I must have read your last post wrong. You're definitely right.

I say, save the money...just get some spacers and your set

Affordability wise I say go for some lower profile tires and a stretch combined with spacers but I don't know what your stocks look like. I've always been a fan of say Infiniti wheels on a Nissan, or Lexus wheels on a Toyota, Acura on Honda, etc. Keep it in the family. In high school one of my buddies had a Toyota mini truck slammed on Lexus wheels and it was a good look. Miranda pointed you in the right direction too. Get what trips your trigger, not what your friends or some yahoo on the web wants you to get. In the end it's your own satisfaction you're after. Good luck and happy trails.
