I'm trying to get my wheel shit straight, I want 15x9 or 15x10 3pc mesh JDM wheels like old school SSRs but I want to know how bosozoku guys do their wheels, do they just put two barrels together so that a barrel becomes a lip? (Barrel, mesh, barrel; as opposed to Lip, mesh, barrel) I want super deep dish. Help mee I've been searching shit for like a month now and can barely find anything, especially when "wheelbarrow" keeps popping up in google. I don't really know if I made much sense but I hope I did, thanks guys!

I wanna say a lot of oldschool wheels just came with crazy negative offsets. I know at least old Centerlines did. But if you've already got 3 piece ones and wanna use barrels as a lip you can download this pdf made by s/w member padraigmk3.

SSR makes Formula Mesh which uses the more traditional style stepped lip and also Reverse Mesh which is as it sounds(reversed) and uses a flat barrel style lip(as an example). Most Japanese old school dished 3 piece wheels come that way in 9/10/11/12in+ widths but they go for a small fortune when they get that wide....they're also welded, so it's not as easy as just splitting them and using 2 barrels, but it could be done.

Depending on the wheel orientation (i.e.: Standard vs. Reverse tire mount) either the lip or the barrel has a drop down built into it which enables you to stretch the bead around the lip during mounts and dismounts. Without this dropdown on one side of the wheel, mounting would be difficult and dismounting would be, in most cases, all but impossible without ripping the bead.
That being said, "reversing" the wheel, using the outer as an inner and the inner as an outer, is a totally viable option, so long as you (and your tire guy) keep in mind that the tire mount orientation will be reversed as well.Originally posted by AMGwheelwhoreQuitters never stance.
