  • E65/E66 wheels onto E46... heard they might not work?

I was interested in a set a wheels for an E65/E66 BMW 7 series, thinking they would bolt right up to my E46. But now I'm hearing they require a different bolt size?

Can someone clarify? Also, would wheels from an X5 bolt up? Again, hearing the bolt pattern and centerbore are correct, but requires different lug bolts.

    Thanks in advance.

E65 use 14mm lugs. Doesn't have anything to do with your car.

Would this require adapters? I know the PCD is the same, but would using the 12mm lugs that my car requires still work?

No you don't need adapters. If the holes are 14mm and you utilize 12mm shank diameter bolts you will be fine. The only think to make sure is that you have the correct type of seat on your bolts so it sits properly.

For those who want to go the other way (12mm wheels on a 14mm application) you can bore out the lug holes with a 5/8ths bit to make it work.
