Not sure if this is the place to put this or not, so if it is not the correct place could a mod move it for me, thanks.
Now onto my question. I have a set of BBS RMs that currently do not have the center caps. I was looking at both the hex and the flat caps and personally I am not a fan of either style. I have seen on some RSs a beveled center cap, that is just a half height cap with an angle to where the logo goes as opposed to being completely flat, or hexagonal. I really do like these caps, but cant seem to find them anywhere, so I am going to give it a shot at making a custom set. I have searched for specs on the caps on various forums as well as the places selling these caps, but cant seem to find any specs listed.
This brings me to my predicament, that I do not currently have any caps to take measurements from. I can get a few measurements from the wheel, and from what I know about what size the logos are and from measurements on dimple rings, but I still am coming up short on a couple measurements. If anyone could obtain some measurements for me I would be greatly appreciative.
If I can get all the measurements to make a custom center cap, I will then make a schematic on AutoCAD, and would be willing to share it, or possibly even reproduce a few sets if mine turn out well, and there is interest, but I need to start out with the measurements first.
I would need all the measurements including:
-Outer Diameter of the part inserted into the center of the wheel.
-Outer Diameter of the part that meets with the dimple ring (the widest part of the cap).
-Inner Diameter of where the BBS logo cap goes (I believe it is the larger logo, 70mm?).
-The depth of where the logo goes.
-Height of the whole cap (this may not need to be identical to the stock BBS ones).
I believe these would be all the measurements I would need to make a 3-D representation on the computer, so that I can get into a shop and machine all of the dimensions.
If anyone has any of these measurements at all I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
