  • Stretching for the first time

    Hey guys,

First off, this is my first post here, a few of you may have seen me on BF.c, but when it comes to stretch they all seem to be useless at sharing valid information about stretching tires.

So i figured i'd try here and see if you all judge me as "unsafe".

I drive a Bmw 320i coupe with coilovers, i been running M3 Contours 2 with 225-45-R17 for the past year and the idea has always been to run down the tires and replace with the "right" tires.

This is how she has been sitting for the past year with the non spaced 8" wide contours ET40.

I now have (with my winter rims) 15mm spacers infront (15 each side, if anyones unsure) and 20mm spacers on the rear. This has brought the stock 15" rims out nicely, infact i was surprised how well i hit the sizes i was looking for. But this means that my Contours are going to poke ofcourse, and to solve the issue of pigs pulling me over i must stretch.

I have 2x 205/35/R17 that im going to be useing and and then i want to get 205/40/R17 for the other 2 wheels.

Now. I have not ever seen 205/35/17 mounted, only on 18" wheels. <--- If anyone has a picture on 17's i would love to see, even thou there shouldnt be such a big difference.

Anyway, i want to run the 205/35 on the rears and then run the 205/40s in front.

Would this look akward? Ofcourse the cars suspention will be setup so that it looks rights.

Pictures of something like this would be great If anyone has done it, seen it or whatever

why would you run different size tires on an 8" wide wheel? and to put more tread up front instead of the rear sounds odd to me. If anything just run the 205/35's all around. won't look that bad if you're nice and low
