  • Help w124 Guys! I'm in wheel trouble!

I'm putting together my '93 400e and I'm having problems finding the right size wheels and tires. The car is lowered on h&r lowering springs and bilstein dampers. Its currently on AMG monoblocks - 17x7.5 et 35 with old 235/45-17 tires. It rubs a bit on full compression but I'm not worried about that. I bought some 18x8.5 et 35 wheels and put 225/40-18 tires on and the front wheels didn't clear the calipers so I put 5mm spacers on and now they won't clear the fenders.

What size wheels and tires are you guys running so I can figure out what I need to get.

I'm running 16x8.5 et20 and 16x9.5 et21 205/45/16 all around. When I ran 18" monoblocks and Porsche wheels I ran a 215/40 front and 225/40 rear. Look at my build I've blown through alot of wheels should help you out.

I ran 18x8.5? i think monoblocks off a 210? I think with an et44 and it cleared brakes and only rubbed fenders a lil but I was new to stretch and prolly could've put a narrower tire on it. Does your 400e have larger calipers than E320's and such? You should be good with amg wheels as they were made to clear big brakes for those cars I'm sure. If you want to see my old setup and my new setup take a ride through my build thread, there's a link in my sig it should have some useful info in there for you. Hope you figure something out man.
