What tires for 17x14

Good day, I Recently acquired a set of autostrada monzas in 17x14 and 17x12.5, i was just wondering if 255/40 on the rear and 235/40 on the fronts will work?

*searched the forum for anyone rocking 17x14 on their cars and i cant seem to find any info about em (i can see why), please correct me if im wrong. the wheels are going to be put on a 240z with an arita speed kit.

you'll need wider tires for sure, now i'm with 245/35 on 17x11,5 and it'll be near impossible to stretch narrower tires...

As above that'll be some very hefty stretch if you even manage to get a tyre on

I see, saw someone stretch a 255/40 on a 17x12.5, it looks good and the stretch is not too extreme, what im not sure about is if 255/40 can still accommodate the extra 1.5 inches, i dont really want to expose the barrel of the rims since its not aesthetically appealing to me personally and its not reall safe.

I admire the balls and the dedication of the owner but its not really my cup of tea, ill prolly try the 255/40 on just for shit and giggle and see what the outcome is, as long as the barrel is not exposed, its good for me.

255's will be cutting it real close, 1.5" extra compared to the above picture is more than you think.
