trying to match style 5 caps to rest of center (rattle can)

Ok so recently i traded some bmw oem 20's for some refinished style 5s which are for sale btw. The guy took the centers apart from the barrel, stripped the clear coat off the lips and wet sanded them to a mirror finish. ( a lot of work)
Paint is pretty good on the centers, so he didnt have to re-spray them.
He gave me some center caps, but there all scratched up, and some paint is peeling. i want to paint them.
Just wanted to ask if duplicolor or any other brand of spray paint will come close to the oem finish..
Any experiences?

The problem is that the center caps are a completely different piece than the center. Usually people use Wurth paint to repair/touch up most makes and models from Europe. The key is to spray the bad spot without taping off around it to get a blending effect. Your options would be to either respray the centers and caps, respray just the center caps and hope its an almost perfect match, or bring a wheel to a paint shop and see if they can mix you a can of whatever color the centers are.

I would recommend a full respray of the centers and caps. I have sprayed wheel centers and center caps even a day apart with the sam exact can and they look slightly different. There are a ton of factors that come into play when painting.

might just leave them like that. The buyer most likely will paint the centers a diff color, so he can paint the caps too. but didnt wanna sell crap caps thats all.

If you really want a perfect match try your local bmw dealer...
In the uk they still sell the caps new at about £10 a piece.
