  • Rust Protection

Looking for a good way to protect my wheel bolts from rusting, i have a set of kinesis wheels and everytime it rains the bolts get coated in rust. I have ordered a metal polish called gadnium, it supposedly helps shield metal from water and corrosion. Just curious if anyone has ever used it or knows of any other decent solutions. I plan on replacing the bolts with coated ones over the winter. Just looking for a temporary fix.

    Cheers

You could pop them off and spray them with the wheel clear coat, which can be found at any parts store I'm sure. Just make sure they're real clean before you spray them, because after that, that's it. Sounds pretty damn tedious and time consuming though.

Try wax. . think ive read somewhere that helps.
If not, you can get the bolts off, put them in vinegar for 2/3 days, then put them in soapy water, dont rinse them off, and dry with a clean cloth, then like he said above, paint or polish and add clear to the heads. then after you install, touch up the back with some clear coat, you can spray it in the spraycan cap and then brush it on the back of the bolts.
      hope this helps

I agreed with JE and he gave the right idea for protection. I am also searching the way to protect and found a great idea hope it will work. We can paint or spray also to protect but i think it will not protect for long time.
