  • wheels for w123 wagon?

Hello i'm looking for new 16" rims for my w123 wagon but im not sure about how wide i can go.
So i thought i could ask here if anybody know what's the max and what ET i need?
Also what stops me from going any wider without doing mods?

Thanks for any reply, and sorry for my bad english.

      CLK lightweights

I think with 16" you need an offset of +35 anything less up front and you get tie rod interference. Try searching through Craigslist ads or junkyards for 97-99 clk's. They came stock with 16's that have the right amount of offset for a w123. AND they look decent on it. OH and what stops you from going wider? Mainly tie rods unless you put a larger diameter wheel on it. Oh, and to kill two birds with one stone. W116 and W126 lowering springs from H&R will drop you about two inches. You can also search some of the benz forums for people who picked up Vogtland springs specifically for the w123. AH, another thing. You mentioned you had SLS there are some write-ups spread across the internet. I'll try to find a link if its too difficult for you to search.

      Good luck on your quest!

I realy want to get some 8" up front and 8.5" in the back if i can fit it?
So i wonder if it is possible without heavy mods?
what do you guys think look best 16" or 17" rims on the w123?

16" looks best imo but there's a ton of room in those fenders you can go quite wide with the proper offsets.

Malmberg: So i can get some 8 and 8.5" as long as it has a low ET
Samyybaby: Why do i want 5x114.3 rims? to me it looks unsafe to drive with wobble bolts? i might be wrong tho.
