  • Tire size help for 8.5 + 9.5 e30 m3

    I have a set of RS212/197 going on an e30 M3.

A very common slight stretch setup is 215/40 front and 245/35 rear

    Here's my dilemma.

245/35/17 has been discontinued for the US by every tire manufacturer except Toyo, but they don't have a matching front.

I'm thinking a wide 235/40 will work, but I can't find pictures anywhere. Has anyone run 215/40 on an 8.5 front with 235/40 on a 9.5 rear? I think the stretch will be similar front to rear but I want to see some examples.

        Yeah I checked there's no 235/40 on a 9.5 listed on tyrestretch.com

245/35 is a slight stretch. I know it's nothing extreme (and I know this is StanceWorks) but I'm looking for very mild stretch comparable to 245/35.

This is how the 215/40 and 245/35 setup looks:

        So I want to see 235/40 on a 17x9.5

Actually I've been searching google for days. Already seen that one, and probably any other one you'd find in a google search. Looking for better photos, but thanks for cheeky comment.

              Anyone with an e30?

If you've seen "that one, and probably any other one you'd find in a google search" (because there are a ton of them) and still can't visualise it, no one can help you.

                I suggest you try this

There aren't a ton of them actually. You know that since you did the search yourself. The more common size there is 245/35 but you can no longer get them in the states.

Thank you for your sage wisdom

There are a lot and that wasn't any special kind of advice, just basic stuff that is obviously well beyond your abilities, as you continue to prove.

Since you are the resident expert and thread cop of the wheel and tire section, why don't you prove your worth?

I dare you to find an e30 M3 on Google running the following:

                          front: 215/40/17 8.5 et13
                          rear: 235/40/17 9.5 et13

Yes because everyone has time to go and find something to your exact needs when tons of info has already been presented. You should be able to figure out measurements or at least visualize the slight variances provided that differentiate between what you can find and what you want. The internet does not have everything you need, about 10 years ago it wasn't uncommon for people to jack up their cars and use measuring devices.

Retarded requests like asking the previous member to find measurements to the T of what you need aren't helping your case. You said you searched far and wide already, well then great that's all the great interwebz have to provide. Base you judgement off that and move on to find the answer yourself. Then you can post results for the next time some guy wants the information directly given to him with minimal effort.

BOL with your search, that sizing will look great on a e30 m3 IMHO.

I looked. I found. Go do the same.
