I am ordering the pieces and hardware that i'll need in order to refurbish the RS wheels that i picked up the other week and keep coming up with a question. It's a fairly easy one to someone with this type of experience i'm sure, but this is my first time embarking on this [rather exciting] ordeal.
The wheels i have are the 15x6.5 +38 versions. I'm looking to make the rears 15x8 and the fronts 15x7. From my reading and research, this would make the final wheel and offset size R 15x8 +13 and F 15x7 +24.
The question that i keep running into is this: "exactly what width lips do i need to purchase in order to make this happen?" People have told me, and i have read various answers. However I am leaning towards the 2.5" lips for the rear and 1.5" for the front. Are my measurements correct?
Thanks sincerely in advance for the help! I've read several DIYs and have been scouring VW Vortex as well as WheelWhores for tips and advice, but am always open to any kind of comment or tip regardless of whether i've heard it a hundred times or not.
