XXRs?

Hey, I'm new to this forum but I have got a question. Why does XXR have a bad reputation? Every time some says they have XXRs some one is bashing them. Why?

ive owned xxr's(still have one set, which are essentially placeholders atm), and never had any troubles with them, but theyre still just copies.

I've actually been told that that the majority of xxr's are original designs. I was told the reason for **** was the fact that xxr does no R&D and is kind of a one and done kind of company.

But as for that last bit, I have a set of xxr and have ha no issues performance wise with them as well. If you are looking for a cheap wheel that holds up(so far for me), xxr isn't a bad option. But expect **** for it.

out of the 18 wheels on their site, there are 5 or 6 that i dont know a wheel they resemble, the rest are copies of other wheels, or so similar many people wouldnt tell

they might not r&d, but i know at least some of their wheels have JWL pass, so theyre not the worst wheel to get.

I don't like them or Rotas because the quality and appearance are just awful. I despised my Rotas and will never own another set. Also, XXR's are multi-lug which looks cheesy. I think these, and the whole "knock-off" thing are the reasons for the disliking.

The multi lug gets on my nerves. Until I was able to differentiate between the two patterns, putting them on was hell. Plus you're right, it does look cheesy. Universal=mas$$.

it just means that theres been at least some testing done on the wheels to pass a standard

I'm gonna lay this out for you so you can stop asking questions:

People dislike replica parts because they negatively impact the automotive industry. Lets say for example a company like XXR goes out and decides to make a wheel that looks like a TE37. Volk Racing has done all of the research and design on that wheel. They have paid designers, testing companies, engineers, etc to make that wheel the best it can be. It will hold up to stresses that are far beyond daily usage and because of this they can provide a warranty on the wheel and assurance that you are buying a quality product. XXR on the other hand just says to a factory in China, "Hey we like how this looks, make this for us." They order 10000 sets and meet minimums and that's it. Their product is inferior, made with far less quality control, could have defects, has no R&D and therefore it ends up being far far less for the consumer. By buying these knock off wheels and supporting companies that make replicas, you are doing a disservice to the car community. If you buy shitty knock off wheels, the companies that make the actual real versions are going to eventually go out of business and there will be nobody left to supply new designs to the knock off companies. This is the reason why people **** on companies like ROTA, XXR, etc.
