  • Common Dumb Shit Questions About Tyres And Wheels - PUT THEM HERE

Sooo many threads, sooo little effort needed.

If you have questions about tyre sizes there are many many resources to use and takes less time than it does to start a thread and wait for replies.

What tyre size should I run?

Decide the look or tyre requirements you need to fit your wheels then

    tyrestretch.com

    willtheyfit.com

    Also

Google.com to find what other people are using on your chassis. You can also use this for any other tyre related matters. Watch out coz you. have. to. read. things.

There are sticky threads in the 'wheels and brakes' section on this forum that explains a lot BUT again. you. have. to. read.

    Tyres

    Wheel offset etc

Also there is this crazy thing up the top called a "search". Use it.

Any other fucktard questions please keep them to this one thread.

So, I have these 16x8 wheels and want some stretch on my (not-very) lowered Civic. Was thinking a 185/40 or a 165/50? (What do they numbers even mean...?)

              I love this thread.

"My wheels have low offset and they stick out to much, if I put spacers will that help them fit better"

              "I have a 225 on a 7.5" rim, I want a stretch but is 205 to much?"

"My wheels are 8" front and 9" rear, I don't know anything else about them but what tires can I mount to put them on my super slammed e36?"

someone once said to me "the offset on my wheels is 35, the offset on my car is 40."

I didn't know how to respond...

"Before I go ahead and think of purchasing these, their offset is 0mm. I know the usual is not near that for E36. How will my stance be/what offset you think has the perfect stance for flushed.. Not sure how it'll look/feel: any comments?"

This confirms my complete hatred for these questions.

"Before I go ahead and think of purchasing these" - This person has thought about purchasing obviously as he's asking for opinions, what he hasn't bothered to do in the slightest is think, here's why...

"How will my stance be/what offset you think has the perfect stance for flushed.. Not sure how it'll look/feel: any comments?" - If any sort of search was done you could find a picture of exactly how it will look or near enough (even though he hasn't said anything about width so I'm not sure wtf is happening) If you can't find something exactly the same and can't visualise something that is similar. GTFO. Sell your car and collect some pokemon cards.

"I've been searching for a while but I cant seem to find anywhere that sells 185/35r17 tires in the US for a reasonable price, I know tuner shop and BFI sells them but I'm not trying to spend over $500 on tires. Any help would be much appreciated."

                        - Maybe try a tyre shop, ebay, tyrerack etc etc etc or someone who actually sells tyres?

"OHHHH true. the less the width is, the less the poke. Ok, but I doubt many of these manufacturers make em so "non-wide""
