  • Style 5 center cap install?

So I just got new center caps for my style 5's. I am debating between cutting slots in the cap to make it so the crests can click in so I don't have to break the tabs on the brand new caps I have. What I have seen a lot of people break/remove the tabs and hot glue the caps in.

Is there a way I can clip them in effectively or should I just break the tabs and attach them?

If I just break the tabs am I best to use an epoxy or should I just use hot glue to hold them in like I have seen before?

Most people just dremel the tabs off, thats what I did. then jb welded them in. I wasnt happy about spending 100 bucks on caps and fucking with them but thats just what you have to do if you want it to be simple

yeah, did the same thing. used a dremel and made it flat and smooth.
the cap actually sits pretty flush with the hub and looks original.

and about the glue.. dont use hot glue! its not strong enough to withstand the change of temperatures etc...

      use a 2 component glue.

I cut clots and snapped them in as you're thinking of doing. Also added a bit of black RTV from the back just to be extra safe. Worked great, and I didn't ruin a set of caps.
