I have never redrilled a wheel. However, I am posting responses to this thread in between stints at the bridgeport where I have been milling parts all day. So I do know a bit about machining and metalwork.

Not so good job on the OP's photos. It could last forever, but I wouldn't be satisfied with that for sure.

Had to make them smaller since the website wouldnt let me fit the original size.

I was reffering to the redrilling. Language barrier must have got me.

I'd be a little leary about driving on those. How flush are those sitting to the fenders now? I wonder if you could just get thin adapters. Seems safer than those to me.

No way are those at all safe. Not only did they choose an idiotic place to machine the new bolt pattern they ruined the hub bore in the process. You can see on the blue car they drilled a small diameter hole and used tuner lugs so that they could avoid affecting the hub bore.
Not to mention, the vw also has a 5x112 instead of a 5x100. So there is a little bit more material on the inside edge of the holes. But your buddy's style 5s are pretty much toast once the inside wall was drilled through like that, theres hardly any material holding the inserts since the centerbore is on one side, and the old lug hole is the other side.

I've seen worse (people really are crazy) but yeah these are pretty bad in terms of the redrill work. They should have told you that the centerbore is too large for 14mm bolt holes with press in steel lug seats...

With that said, some say the centerbore is far more important then the actual lug holes in terms of the wheel actually staying on the car. I'm not going to comment but both parts look to have been compromised, so that's a moot point

These could have technically been worked to be 5x100 safely but it would require a load more work then what was completed... Custom parts, welding, machining, drilling. Just drilling and press in inserts.... unfortunately not so much.

are the steel inserts that big of a help? from the pictures, steel inserts have a little bit of a lip that takes away the original hub bore. These are my rims, sucks that these got fucked up, and its gonna be alot more money to get these to riding, but at this point ive already invested money so im gonna stick with them.

Found a place in Fort Lauderdale called FL Goodroads and Bentrimrepair in orlando. Gonna check them out to see if they can/know how to fix.

im also looking around in the orlando area of anyplace that can weld. if redrilling inbetween original wheel pattern is better than thats the road ill take.

please, only asking for advice, no asshole answers

I'm guessing but I highly doubt those could be fixed as its pretty much been totally compromised. that being said if you did find someone to fix these the cost would likely be more then they're worth. Personally I would go back to the shop that did these and ask for my money back as they obviously didn't know what they were doing

also the steel inserts are of help if they are done correctly. they help spread the load evenly

                        so possible solutions disregarding money

                        1. refill the holes that were made and make it back to original wheel pattern. (prefer not to, offset with no adapters is exactly what i want, and adapters would make them poke out much more than i want)

                        2. refill old 5x120 holes welding, and try to see if possible to weld shut where they cut the center bore out

i saw a picture on these style 5's that were drilled to 4x100, not using steel inserts but did not cut out the center bore. would this be a possible solution? as the steel insert width is visually wider than the actual hole.

also ive read somewhere that exactly where the steel inserts put pressure is where the hub ring goes, what if i was able to get aluminum hub rings (i have) welded in?

sorry, cant find answers so im asking here.

I would return the wheels to the shop and ask a full refund for wheels (used market value) + work done or set of same spec style 5's in good working condition + refund for work that's done.
