Outer barrels as inner barrels?

So here's my question to you guys.

I currently have a set of 9j, ET -38 wheels with a 4" outer lip & 4.5" inner barrel.

With the ridiculous ET, the wheels poke out several miles. So I'm debating if I would rebuild them or sell them.

If I would want them to fit, I need to narrow the front wheel 2.25" and the back wheel 1.5". But the problem is that I'm in love with the 4" lips.

Since Inner barrels don't come in 2.25" of 1.5", I was thinking of using an outer barrel as inner barrel.

Is this possible?

are you kidding? the result would be a 6" wide wheel and it would poke the same amount.
