  • My BBS RS212 got a new life :) Picture heavy detailed.

Just figured I'd make a little "build" thread for my BBS RS212, originally 8,5x17 ET13 all around.

    How I got them:

Quite bad as you can see. Needed new bolts, and since I am fond of steplips I figured to replace the original slant lips since 2 had curb rash I didn't want to fix, and went for new lips all around aswell, along with new valves and center caps.

    Split them:

Cleaned up barrels a bit, they were going to the painters anyway so I didn't do it very thorough:

Then it was time to refinish the center nuts, while waiting for my order of new lips, bolts and valves arriving (took quite a while because of a slow backorder)..

    Paint remover working:

Process of sanding from 180-1200wet + polish.

Finished with new center caps installed:

    Christmas came early this year:

    Testfit before paint:

Then I finally got them back from painters, very happy how the white color turned out!

It's an Ivory white color. Now they have all been put together with silicone between face and lip/barrel and a multibond "glue" on the outside (where tire holds air). Tires will be fitted in a couple weeks Can't wait to try them on my car!

Final specs: Front 8,5x17" ET13 2" lips, Rear 9x17" ET6~ 2,5" lips. Will be fitted with 195/40 and 215/40 (maybe 215/35 later on)..

Car they will be fitted on is an E36 328i coupe, techno-violet.

    Thanks for looking!

        Very nice!

I just tripped over my RS212's in the garage. This makes me want to tear mine down and refinish them.

How much did the lips and bolts run you?

Thanks. I live in Norway so it's quite expensive taxes here seeing they are shipped from Germany. And I got the bolts for the price of normal bolt since the ones I first ordered wasnt in stock and spiked ones were a bit more expensive. But in total around 830 euro + tax..

Very nice, colour combo looks good and should work well on the Techno......I'm splitting my 212/197's this weekend, then off to the painters/polishers they'll go.

Thank you guys All new parts were bought from tunershop.com. As for the lips quality/finish I am very happy, exept you will need to do a machine polish to make them mirror finish..
