stuck on rebuild and wish somebody could help me clear my facts / logics....
-scenario / situation-
the old wheel = 18" 10j et+38
the new wheel = 18" 10.5j et-5
Am wanting to rebuild the new wheel with the old inner barrel to make it wide,
by the wheel-offset-calculator it indicated that inner side i would gain 37mm space, and outter would extend / poke 49mm by extra.
whatevers and so the wheels been teared down...and screwed but not glued then gone for test fit.
the rebuilt wheel now inner side is actually hitting the suspension and some other metal frame....wtf?
so then i bolt the rebuilt wheel onto the car anyway then measured the gap between wheel and hub, roughly around 120mm.
this means that i have to use spacer to poke extra 120mm to clear the inner but outter poke is gonna gain 120mm....
so my question is,
if i use the same inner barrel with new wheel face and wider lip, the inner clearance shouldnt change right?? i mean....the wheel face thickness isnt that 120mm much of difference right?
hope someone could share some advise...
