  • How do you measure offsets?

My SSRs have been recently flipped, as in I flip the faces in the rear to achieve a bigger lip from 5.5" rear lip to. 6.5" rear lip, thus changing the offsets all together.

    Ive heard two things

1.) soneone told me you measure offsets from your Hub . Your hub on your rotor is +0 , is this correct? If so +0 is where the hub meets the faces of the wheel right? Which changes my calculations on my offsets then . Can someone please verify this to me.

2.) i had thought my offsets were 19x12 -13 cause someone told me the center of the wheel is 0 offset. So I measured 12 inchs from bead to bead, the center of the wheel would be at 6inches with a 6.5" rear lip now, that 1/2 inch going away making it 12.5mm (I rounded up to -13).

I only brought this up cause I couldn't figure out why test fitting my friends rotiforms (edafes old sjc) 18x12 -16 I had so much wheel gap. I thought it was odd but I just let it go n didn't bother but now hes selling the rotis n getting another set these are 19x12 -26 and the lip size to offset ratio is what brought this issue back up n back to my attention

My question is that I have the same size 19x12 with a 6.5" rear lip. I'm very confused since the 19x12 -26 has a 5.5" rear lip . I thought the bigger the lip the more negative the offset?

Sorry for the longest question , but someone here knowledgable enlighten me please!

If I measured it wrong I think I'm more negative then I thought

            Yeah your sig sucks.

Idk wtf zero offset hubs mean or why your making it so difficult or why in the world stepped vs flat lips would change offsets lol. Your lip sizes are meaningless without more info so stop fixating on them. You could have a super low disk with little brake clearance and bigger lips compared to a super high disk not to mention design and manufacturer differences. Just measure the entire inner/outer barrel and the relation of the mounting surface to the center of the barrel.

Thanks for the advice my friends coming over to measure it for me . And Im not fixating on the lip sizes, I was told the bigger the lip, changes the width n offsets of your wheel.
These rear wheels were bought used with no specs on them.

N il change the size of the sig tomorrow if it bothers you guys so much. When I had chose this sig I had to keep on resizing it til I just gave up n settled for this one .

Measure the wheel width from bead to bead. Then measure the backspacing and use the calculator here http://www.ccwheel.com/technical.php
