I read that the centres of these can be almost impossible to get out. I`ve heard of a few people on wheel whores, who`ve used a block of wood to spread the load and then use a mallet to bash them out.

If you have to destroy the bolts to get them out, there`s a guy on driftworks who sells a STAINLESS bolt kit for style 5`s that have round heads on them which have a lower profile to the BBS ones and it makes them easier to polish the lips when rebuilt, they wont corrode and they`re half the price too.

how do you guys color the caps?
do you just pull them apart and spray paint them?
if so is there a particular type/brand of spray paint to use?
does it rub off as soon as you put the tool on them to remove the caps?
        I haz 4 wimz. need 4 more.

Hmmm I might pick up style 5's this week. My dad has an E36 that looks just like this but with stock bumper.

          Decisions, decisions...

              THIS!

Or try painting the centers black then polishing just the very front part of the face, hard to explain what I mean.

              Edit. Like this.

I was thinking same as above. This one looks different though from another angle. May be same wheel.

it is not so difficult to remove the center, you just need a big hammer and som wood

                        bolts may take some time

thanks for the response so far, post photos while I work

my wheels were almost as new, so it may have something to say.

condition wouldnt effect anything. whether the owner kept them fresh or let them get destroyed the sealant on the back would still be the same.
