  • Buying new wheels tonight

I all im new on here but was just wondering who could tell me the best tires to put on my new wheels for extra stretch. They are 15x8 inch wide front and rear and e15.

    Was thinking 165/55/15

    Thanks all

IMO 195/50/15 is a decent stretch for daily driving. But thats because I am a honda guy. Ive heard of a few vdub guys running 185 but never 165.

Sounds pretty fine to me, though depends on car and it's ride height. Just look up different kinds of stretch'es right here : http://www.tyrestretch.com/

        165/55R15 isn't even a real size.

        195/50s almost don't stretch at all on a 15x8.
People run 165/45 and 165/50 on 15x8s on VWs all the time. I personally don't like the look, but it can be done.

OP: if you want strech on a 15x8, go with something besides a 195/50. There are other options.

Stretching on a wheel that small is just silly anyway, the tire contact patch is less than stock most likely which is about as a good idea as putting smaller brakes on the car...

Depends on the car...for example, my Mk 1. stock tire size was 155/80 or 175/70R13.

I have 175s on 8s now. Very common setup.
