  • Porsche wheel finish opinions

OK, so I've been itching to change my wheels up lately.

With all of my money being spent on parts for a bigger turbo on this car, I don't really have the option right now to get new wheels, so I have decided that I'd like to change my current wheels up and refinish them. They have a pretty cool finish on them right now. The faces are silver, and then at certain angles they turn black...BUT on the front wheels it was done really shittily so they look almost completely black at all times and the paint is coming off in the lug nut holes. Below are a few pics to show this.

and here is the shitty job that was done on the fronts (blotchy and hardly any silver)

Soooo what do you guys suggest? I either want to strip them with aircraft remover and have a stock-looking metal finish on them similar to this:

(these are the same wheels before they were painted like this actually...by a previous owner)

or some kind of media blasting to achieve the same result.

orrrrrrrrr strip them and have them painted a different color (like pearl white maybe)

    what do you guys think?

Here is how they look on the car. The idea was cool, but the result was mediocre :/

Maybe I'll do some pchops later

oh and just FYI, I do intend to get some new wheels later on and I want something with more aggressive offset, big lip, etc..I'm thinking RS's would compliment this car really well. OR some Keskins. Suggestions?

Yeah, it's hard to go wrong with white centers on a white car.

I have to ask... Are you set on keeping those wheels?

Nope, read the last line in my first post (under the last pic).

The only reason I have these is because I got them for a hell of a deal and I needed them to fit my big brakes up front.

Hmmm now gold is something I never thought of.

I've definitely gotta do some pchops now. I'm curious to see just how good the white or gold might look.

No keskins, please. <-- hates fake wheels.

Some RSs would be nice, I mean, you really can't argue with them except saying that they are played. I think a VIP looking wheel would be the tits though. Something with a big, flat face, and lips like Angelina would equal win on that car.

Oh I wasn't aware that Kesins were fake...what exactly does the KT-1 copy? *edit* see post below

I like VIP style, but I'm not sure if I want to do that on this car as its more of a track car than anything. End goal with the car is 6-800awhp and its about half way there right now. Will be getting a roll bar, etc. so the theme is more motorsports style. RS's would make awesome track wheels I'd like to do a VIP Q45 or something along those lines someday, but thats not this car for me. It needs to stay euro.

                  OZ Futura?

If so, then I'd rock the hell out of those. I wasn't aware that the Keskins were copies. My final wheel setup will definitely NOT be fake.

OK I need two rear tires badly on the car. I just looked under the car to see chords on the inside of the tire lol. Sooo Here is the stretch on the back tires. Anyone think I should stick with the 255 35 18's? or should I go to 235-40-18 or something like that?

I love the 255's but I could stand something a little skinnier as long as it still looks nice and wide from the back. I'm just afraid that it wont come as close to the fender anymore and I like the look of it being right on the fender.
