  • Waxing polished lips?

Hey just looking for some advise. I've been searching and haven't found a clear answer. I have a set of works with high polished lips. My question is do you guys wax your lips? If so what do you use? Ive seen people mention using a sealer/ wax after polishing but no brand etc was given. Thanks!

imho, if you go for raw aluminum, it looks better than with a clear coat when they are clean and fresh...but you gotta keep on it. i.e. wipe clean and re wax weekly. and if it snows a lot in your area and they salt the roads...swap them out for winter or wash them more.

I have herd some positive things about Future floor wax, which is actually a clear acrylic paint...that could work as a protective coating that's not as hard core as actual clear coat. meaning to re-do it you might not need to strip it completely which is a total pain and expensive if it's a 3 piece wheel. I mean you can't properly re-do a clear coat on a wheel lip without breaking down a 3 piece wheel.

I tested a piece of aluminum by polishing it and "waxing" it with Wenol and leaving it in my truck bed for over a year. just recently I cleaned it of dust and stuff. it looked pretty good really, but it was in the bed of my truck and not 2 inches from the road dirt and filth.

I work in an industrial district and you really cant go to work one day w/o your stuff getting totally dusted from all the crap kicked up by trucks and stuff.

Wenol, Neverdull and Flitz all say they leave a protective coating on the raw metal to help the polish last...I haven't all of them, but I should. maybe I'll go get some Future floor wax today too...

They're bare polished alluminum now. I don't want to coat them with anything. Other than some sort of wax to help protect them
