  • Wheel bolt torque / loctite

I've got a set of Desmond Koenig wheels that I split to refinish and I cannot find a torque spec anywhere for the bolts. I messaged a guy who has the same set and he said he used 34 ft/lbs when he redid his. This sounds a bit high to me as I know BBS RS are like 18-25 ft/lbs. I don't want to break any bolts when putting them back together. I have already had enough trouble with them. Also, is it recommended to use loctite on the bolts?

    Thanks

It is preferred to use loctite, specifically blue 242. Removable strength. It is quite pricey for the 1.22 oz bottle @ $22 plus tax.

K, I already have a giant bottle. Any word on whether 34 ft/lbs is an appropriate torque spec?

34 lbs is too high. I'd say it's safe to do 20 lbs especially if you are reusing the old
        Bolts.

            Yeah 34 is way high.

            20 ft/lbs sounds about right.
            I dislike Byron.
