  • Overhauling AC Schnitzer's Type 1's

I am about to take my AC Schnizter's Type 1's apart. I want to do a full overhaul on the lips to get them back to their shine, mirror shine. I have two quick questions. One, should I reuse the old bolts or by new ones? Maybe get the old ones chrome plated? Secondly, what is the best way to keep the lips nice and shiny? Wax and seal them? I always have a hard time keeping in between the bolts clean. Thanks for the help.

you can soak the old bolts in vinegar for a day or two and they will look brand new. Get large q-tips, that's what i do to keep in between the bolts clean. i polish then wax the lips to keep them shinny, once a month should work.

I completely refinished my acs type 1's not too long ago. I mirror polished the lips and then just keep them polished once a month to make them stay clean. nothing crazy. My bolts i soaked in vinegar and they looked brand new. Hit them with a bit of polish before install and i was good to go.
