  • 165/50/15 stretch on 9s???

So I am looking to get some 15x9s this summer and im not sure what i want to stretch on. I have always been into the crazy cars with tons of stretch and camber. Even though some people **** that like i love it. Anyways been doing some research and saw a vid of a 15x9 stretch on 165/50s. Of course its possible to do but can i daily on it with no problem is my big question and will it hold the bead overtime? Also there FEDERAL FORMOZA FDs, anyone stretch this and are they a nice stretch?
    Thanks Guys!

Search for egstance on here. He had 165/50-15 FD1s on 9" Meisters, so exactly what you're looking for! I've got 165/45 FD1s on 8.5" Meisters up front on my Civic, and they seated without any trouble and hold up just fine.

Yeah i saw a vid on youtube of his meisters being stretched. Looked amazing! How long have you rode on your wheel setup for? And whats a good psi to drive daily on?

By the way your civic is a BEAUT! I remember reading your build thread and my jaw was on the ground the whole time!

          Haha, thanks!
I haven't put very many miles on the setup yet (maybe 150?), but the tires have been mounted for almost a year and I've never lost pressure or anything. I have them set at 50, but I'm sure even a little less would be fine.

Well perfect! Glad to here someone give good input instead of saying to much stretch thats dumb! Also im sure you had to use a air compressor to seat the tires, right? I live up north, Idaho to be exact and where i live the stance scene is pretty small. Would they be able to seat the old fire and brake fluid way?

Yeah, you could probably seat them that way if you have the process down correctly. But I work at a shop with access to tire machines and bead boasters and all at any time, so that made it easy. Haha
The placement and design of the bead on the wheels can make a huge difference, too. I just used the bead blaster on the tire machine and a Cheetah and got every tire seated on the first try, but I've done milder stretches that have taken several attempts to finally seat.

I guess ill send my wheels and tires to you since it sounds like you have the hookups! haha But ya must be nice to work there and have access to all the machines there. My old wheels i was going to used fire and brake fluid on and i went to Les Schwab and ask if they would just mount the tire on there, The guy literally stared at me for like a minute and so no he will pass on that and walked away?! ha So i went to a ghetto tire shop down the road and they used some type of air compressor and got them seat well.

i know its only 8.5j, but it looks pretty nutty, thankfully the federals run a tad wider.. but why not 195/45?

Yeah that stretch is pretty crazy, but thats the stuff i like! Lol If i can run a 165/50 on a 15x9 daily with the bead holding and no air leaks. Then thats what i definatly want to do and it will allow me to go lower with that tire size rather than a 195/45.
