Machine RS faces???

Hello to Stanceworks, is this possible with machine shop?

I would like to machine 2-2.5 mm off the face of RS wheel.

I would like to change the look and flatten edge the spokes and refinish.

I have belt sander and 6-pack.

Idea will weaken wheel?

How are you going to make center caps fit correctly if you take off 2.5mm? Re-machine another recess lower? Run flat caps? Sounds ugly.

Yes the caps would either have to be recessed or spaced..
or just taper or edge the face to line up with the cap.

shouldn't be to hard..I just need to find a shop that can do this kind of thing..SEPA

I think it's a promising idea. I've never seen any RS with that kind of finish... I say don't go too deep. Keep it below 2, maybe? Not taking enough off is better than too much.
