  • BBS RS; A Work In Progress

So I bought a set of BBS RS from someone claiming they were 16x8 et11. Going for a stanced e28, and wanting this build to come out as perfect as could be, I knew there wheels may be a little small...

They came in the mail. 16x7 et11. Great.

I'm going to refurbish them, and see where I'm at then. But I'm sort of stuck as to whether I should just sell them and go a bit bigger, keep them and try to stretch on a 7" wheel, or widen the barrel/buyer a bigger lip.

I honestly don't know what to do, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've been hard up in finding a set of 16" tires smaller than 205 in the US to stretch. I've got 205/40's on an 8" wheel and its a very mild stretch.
The only 195/40 tire I could find was the yoko s.drives. But by all accounts I've come across, they are fat tires to begin with. So, a 195 s.drive ends up looking like a 205.
I've got a set I'm refurbing, Widening with new lips. I'm learning that its pricey to do so though. Seems like your options would be to sell them and find bigger or refurbing them to specs your happy with.

They are pricey to rebuild and make practically brand new, but that's why rebuilt sets sell for big $$$$'s.....but it's rewarding once you've finished them yourself and put them on your car for the first time.

I'd go option 2, refurb and make them to suit the car. Get your shit from Vince^^^(1badg35) and have some fun building them!!!

I just bought another set of RS and they'll be split the weekend I get them, plus I'm splitting and rebuilding my first set soon too....I love building them up and seeing the finished product.

            Thanks for the input guys.
Would a bigger lip thus "deeper" wheel even look that great on an e28 though?
