  • Weds Kranze Bazreia Query

Hi guys, thought i'd post up in here in the hope you could help.

I've scored a baby sized (16") set of these in the UK but cannot seem to establish if the studs/rivets/bolts (whatever you call them) can be removed either by tapping them out from behind or by threading them out with an allen key or torx bit

I don't want to try either to find out i mess them up as there no longer seems to be a UK importer/distributer for them or for parts.

Furthermore can anyone put me in touch with a company who can supply new rivets/studs/bolts and also centre caps for them?

I found http://kranze.jp/english/bazreia.html but i can't seem to buy anything off the site.

    any help appreciated.

    Nathan

Can you see the nut that's holding the bolt to the back of the wheel?
    Pictures of the back?

There isn't a bolt, the wheels are a 2 piece construction at the factory and then welded as one piece so do not split. However, I want to acid dip them to strip previous owners paint off but not if I can't remove the rivet heads that make them look like split rims, if there plastic or something and going to melt!!
The larger versions 19"+ may actually unbolt - I'm not sure. The rims are very rare in uk and having probs finding much out about them.

the bolts are still regular bolts threaded into the face. remove the bolts with the proper tools and proceed as planned.

vincent you are a legend. thank you for confirming what i hoped was the case - as parts seem to be impossible to find i didn't want to stick a torx piece in the end only to shear something off!

I have a set of 18" ones, and yes, they are a true 3-piece. They make them in a huge variety of sizes, I think 15"-22", so I imagined that the smaller ones may be a different construction.

mine are 2 piece construction - face is one part and the lip/barrel as one, but then factory welded.
bit strange if you ask me.
does anyone have a contact at weds or an importer they could ask?
no one in the uk seems to know anything about them
